Lost

Ironically, as I stand at my window looking outside, everything appears to be a big, blurry mess. London this morning is exactly how I like it : grey, wet and heartbreakingly bleak.
Missed 3 buses this morning until finally caught the 4th one. I probably have a world record now for the maximum number of buses missed everyday. I fail to understand what it is with me and missed buses...or maybe its me and the bus drivers? I honestly believe that bus drivers get a kick out of watching you run like the wind, trying ever so hard to catch up with them, as they very conveniently zoom right past you, smug expressions and all.
Anyway in spite of the missed buses, Zoran was yet again, the first one to school, much to his annoyance. The minute he spotted his empty class room he turned to me rather crossly and muttered "And you were saying we'll be late. We're never late Mama!" For some odd reason he hates being the first one to school (as much as I love it!)...every morning he tries to waste as much time as he possibly can...brushing his teeth twice (the first time round wasnt "ploperly" enough:)), taking ages finishing his milk, stopping to marvel at the trees and the birds as we walk towards the bus stop...BUT we're still the first ones there. Im thinking tomorrow, I just might go a little easy on the both of us...but then again, maybe not:)
I met an old African woman on my way back today. The poor soul didnt know a single word of English and to make matters worse she was lost. With a tiny scrap of paper she approached me and I just melted at the sight of her toothless smile. So much like Dadda's smile. I spent a good half an hour trying to find her address. It was hilarious. She didnt know English and I didnt know her language...we both made do with sign language...and it worked perfectly:). I found her the place she wanted to go to...and she hugged me with such extreme warmth that it took me by surprise. I, khair had to spend another 30 mins trying to find my own way back...
But losing your way in order to help some one else find theirs - is not such a bad thing after all.
